The Mountain® uses only environmentally friendly water-based inks and Dyes. Our way of insuring all of our manufacturing processes fully protect earth, air and water.

Unlike other companies that use plastisol printing techniques (similar to laying a coat of plastic on top of a shirt), we use a special process that actually dyes the fabric fiber. Our unique printing system produces an amazingly detailed and durable image with an incredibly soft feel.

Protecting The Environment

The Mountain® has used environmentally-friendly water-based inks for nearly 20 years.

As long as 15 years ago The Mountain® began using organic cotton whenever possible, at a time when organic cotton was rare, and very few farms where willing to grow organic cotton.

For many years, both founders have been involved with Green Causes. One of them has been a longtime advocate of local, national and worldwide conservation organizations dedicated to keeping land preserved so that ecosystems can remain intact for future generations.

The other has had his personal land certified as an organic farm, making it possible for local farmers to use this land to grow
organic food.

Progressive Employment

Our shirts are dyed and printed in our own facility here in New Hampshire. We believe that Fair Trade starts at home by taking good care of our employees and their families.

The Mountain® maintains an on-site Child Care Center that is available for all employees’ pre-school aged children.

We make sure our employees are well-fed by serving healthy organic meals twice daily to the entire company free of charge.
